The Leader of The Animals is filled with talking animals in this play based on The King of the Animals fable.  The moral of the “playble” teaches what happens when we judge people based on their weaknessess instead of their strengths.   (Yes, we made up “playble”.  After all, we are referring to talking animals. We have creative license to make up words.)

This play for children helps practice prekinder, kindergarten and first grade site words.

Short play is approximately 10 minutes long. It is also easily adaptable for a small group of 6 to a class of 24.

10% of each download goes to OurStory, a 501 (c) nonprofit organization, to benefit innovative educational programs.

Excerpt:
Ram:  The goat?  Where can the goat lead us?  The goat stands around munching for hours.  Who wants a leader who is always eating?  Please, let the ram be your royal leader.

All:  (Again, they ask each other quickly as they rock from side to side.)  What do you think?  What do you think?  What do you think?

Donkey:  The ram? We cannot have such a creature for our leader.  Every time he meets one of us, he wants to fight.  But, if he meets a big animal, he is yellow.  He will run away.  No one will respect him.  Let the donkey by your royal leader.

All:  (They ask each other quickly as they rock from side to side.)  What do you think?  What do you think?  What do you think?

Rabbit:  Wh-Wh-What!  The donkey? Why why why get an animal that carries coal on its back?  What what what will they think of us?  We need a leader that can make us proud.  May the rabbit be your royal leader?
